The Concept of Virtual Property in a First Year Property Law Course

Coordinated by Elizabeth Townsend Gard, a visiting assistant professor at Seattle University School of Law, 'The Fizzy Experiment' used Second Life to explore a range of concepts of relating to virtual property in a First Year Property Law course. The course covers topics such as: Adverse Possession; Real Estate versus Chattel in SL; IP Issues: Trademarks, Patents, Right of Publicity, and Copyrights in SL; Public Spaces, Zoning and Nuisances; Nightlife and Gambling; SL Economy and the Nature of Work and Prostitution and the Sex Industry in Second Life.
